HOW ROUTEEFF WORKS
Add your stops, let RouteEff sort the order, and head out with one clear next step at a time. When you finish, your trip summary is already written.
GET STARTED
The welcome screens end with Sign in or create an account and Continue as guest. As a guest you can plan and run routes on this phone. Place search, teams and route codes need an account; sign in any time from Profile. RouteEff asks for location and notifications only when you use them.
Tap New route. It is one screen, already named like #01-route-14-10-26 (the number counts today’s routes). Add stops in visit order and drag the handle to reorder them. Typing a name shows your saved locations; you can also search a place, name a stop or pick it on a map. Or start from a dispatcher’s message or a shared route code.
Tap a stop to add its tasks, products to deliver and a note. All optional. For a saved location, turn on Remember for this location to reuse that work next time.
Tap Start route to begin now, or Save for later to keep it in your Library.
Under More options, pick a colour tag, turn on the credit question, or turn on Plan on a map to set a start and finish, keep your order or let RouteEff find the fastest traffic-aware order, and check drive time and arrival times. A calculated route is saved to your Library.
Tap Navigate on the next stop to open Google Maps directions, or use full-screen guidance inside RouteEff with voice directions and live progress. Tap any stop in the guidance list to see what to deliver and do there, or tap Record stop to record the visit.
Mark stops complete as you go. When the route ends, the trip summary shows your time, stops, units and credit; tap Share summary to send the numbers. For a team run, assign stops manually or balance them between teammates and follow shared progress.
On a new route, tap Discard and confirm Discard this route? to throw the draft away. If a draft is waiting when you tap New route, choose Continue draft or Discard and start new.
ROUTE CHOICES
RouteEff can reorder the middle stops using current traffic estimates. Your starting point and final destination stay fixed.
Use the sequence you entered. This works well when appointments, access windows, or priorities matter more than drive time.
Tip: Add realistic service and break times before calculating. They shift later arrival estimates and make the day easier to judge.
HOME
Home shows a single card for the route you are running, so you can jump back in with one tap. Recent plans sit below it, with View library for the rest.
With nothing planned yet, Home shows Create your first route. Add a few stops and RouteEff sorts the order. It takes about a minute.
LIBRARY
Everything you plan, run and reuse lives in Library, in five tabs.
Routes you save land here, ready to run again tomorrow. Open a route’s menu to open, share or delete it. Deleted routes go to Trash for 30 days.
Share the dispatcher’s message from WhatsApp or any chat app to RouteEff, or copy it and tap Library → Routes → Import route message. Review the stops, deliveries and van load it found, then create the route. Nothing is saved until you confirm. Your last 30 imported messages are kept under Recent messages to read again or delete.
When most stores in a message are on one of your saved routes, choose Update to keep your stop order and tasks. New stores go at the end, and stores not in the message are listed before you confirm.
The message is kept with the route and its runs, on your phone only. Open it from the route menu or the run report → Dispatch message. It is never included when you share a route.
Someone sent you a route code or a crafted-routes.iantoo.space/r/… (or older routeeff.iantoo.space/r/…) link? Open the link on your phone, or type the code under Library → Open a route code. Codes contain no locations, need an account, and give you your own copy of the plan. Codes expire, and the sender can turn them off.
Send route details (stops with Google Maps links) or the route’s QR code as an image to a contact, export a plan as a RouteEff file, or use Android’s share sheet. RouteEff does not read your contacts. Review the stops before sending because a shared plan can contain locations.
Every run with its stops, notes and photos. Open a run for its report, including deliveries, stock and credit.
Each week’s stops, outcomes, stock by product and time at each location, Monday to Sunday. In builds before 33 it is called Weekly operations under You.
Runs started from a message show how much of the planned delivery was made, and which stops were short, over or not delivered, in the run report and in the weekly report.
After a delivery or stock check, take a shelf photo, choose one from the gallery, or give the reason you could not take one. Find them by store in Library → Runs → Shelf photos or a location’s menu → Shelf photos. Long-press to select, then Send to supervisor through WhatsApp, email or any app. Files have the store name and time, with a short visit summary. Photos stay on your phone until you send them. How long they are kept is set in Settings.
Search needs an account. As a guest, type the name and add it without a pin.
Long-press a location for Edit, Visit history, Shelf photos and Delete. Deleted locations go to Trash. A warehouse has no visit history or shelf photos.
Save your warehouse and regular customers once and add them to any route in a tap. A customer’s usual tasks and usual products come with it every time it is added, and the last visit shows when you arrive.
Add the products you deliver once, including how many units fit in a box, tray, case or crate. Counting stock then takes seconds.
Reusable steps for stops, such as “check the display” or “collect empties”. Add them to a stop or make them a location’s usual tasks.
When you match a product name from a message to one of your products, RouteEff remembers it and matches it next time. Edit the product to forget a name.
Create a team, invite people you trust, and share a run. The owner can assign each stop manually or distribute stops evenly. Everyone sees assignments, planned ETAs, and completed stops.
Open Library → Teams → Join team and enter the code a teammate sent you. You need an account.
Open a route’s menu → Share with my team. Only team members can open a shared run, and the owner controls the plan and assignments. Use the optional random picker while parked, never while driving.
Teams are included for every account for now; nothing is charged and payments are disabled.
ON A RUN
Start a run and RouteEff shows one card at a time: drive, arrive, do the work, leave. Timing runs quietly in the background, so there are no stopwatches to manage.
On arrival, pick Delivery, Stock check or No delivery needed. A short note or reason is asked for when nothing is delivered.
Before you arrive, Work at this stop lists the products to deliver and the tasks. At the stop, mark each step Done or Not needed. On a stock check or no-delivery visit, the tasks still appear so you can decide. Leaving becomes available once the steps are resolved.
The green card shows your stops as points on a line, with the van on the way or at the stop, and Delivering to between stops. The planned stock badge next to Stop x of y shows this stop’s units; tap it for the planned stock summary of the whole route.
Made a mistake? Back to … under the current step reopens the last thing you recorded at this stop, with what you entered filled in.
Credit is expired goods you take back to return. If the route asks about credit, each stop asks Is there any credit? after the shelf photo. Choose No credit or add the products and units. Credits appear in the run report.
The next stop shows its address with Navigate (turn-by-turn in Google Maps) and Open in Maps. The return to the warehouse has the same buttons. Stops without map coordinates open by name and address.
When a route ends, the summary shows total time, driving versus time at stops, stops, units, credit and photos. Share summary sends counts only, no addresses.
STOCK ON THE VAN
Add your products once, including how many units fit in a box, tray, case or crate. When a stocked run starts, confirm what you loaded. RouteEff keeps a running van balance from there.
Personal stock mode: stock records are for your own planning. They stay on your phone and are never shared with a team or employer. Team stock management for warehouse managers is planned but not available yet.
PROFILE
Deleted routes, locations, runs and shelf photos wait in Profile → Trash for 30 days, then they are gone for good. Long-press to select, or Select all, then Restore or Delete forever. Empty trash clears everything; that cannot be undone. Right after deleting, Undo also brings it back.
Shows routes, run history, drafts and safe-to-clear cache on this phone. Field records and photos deletes runs, products, locations, stock counts and shelf photos.
Sign-in methods, recovery and password reset. You can add a password to a Google account while signed in. Delete account lives here too; see Delete your account.

NOTIFICATIONS, WIDGETS & SHORTCUTS
Turn on Profile → Settings → Route notifications. While a route is active, a notification shows the next stop with Navigate and Open route or Record stop. During in-app guidance, the navigation notification offers Back to navigation and Mark done, and Stop navigating. Android groups them as Routes and Team. Not arriving? See the notification fix.
Long-press an empty spot on your home screen, choose Widgets, find RouteEff, and drag RouteEff today or RouteEff active route onto the screen. Today shows routes, stops and units with a New route button. Active route shows the next stop and progress, with Navigate while driving and Record at a stop. They update whenever RouteEff saves your work.
Long-press the RouteEff icon for New route, Active route, Navigate and Route code. Drag one to your home screen to keep it there.
PERMISSIONS & PRIVACY
Precise foreground location is required for in-app turn-by-turn guidance and can set your starting point. RouteEff does not request background location.
Optional. They show your active route’s next stop, a way back to navigation, and team updates. Turn them off anytime in RouteEff settings or Android settings.
Crash diagnostics are opt-in. RouteEff does not place passwords, reset links, or route coordinates in diagnostic events.
RouteEff does not read your contacts. Sending a route or code to a contact goes through Android’s share sheet.
HELP
Quick fixes for the usual snags, answers to common questions, and a private way to reach a person.
QUICK FIXES
Android paths are from Google Pixel and standard Android 13 to 16. Other phones use similar names.
Known issue: builds up to 2.0.0 (32) can show Not allowed by Android even after you allow notifications. It is fixed in build 33; update RouteEff when it arrives on Google Play.
RouteEff never needs Allow all the time. Without location you can still plan routes, and Navigate opens Google Maps.
Still stuck? Try signing in here to check your details, or use the email link on the account page.
COMMON QUESTIONS
In build 33 and later, deleted routes, locations, runs and shelf photos go to Profile → Trash for 30 days. Select them and tap Restore. See Trash.
Open account recovery and request a fresh link. If you originally used Google, try Google sign-in first.
No account is needed to plan and run routes on one phone. Place search, teams and route codes need one, and an account keeps your plans when you change phones. See first launch.
Confirm you are online, check the address, and try again. RouteEff limits expensive map requests to protect the free service, so a daily service limit may occasionally apply.
Refresh the route before leaving and check the time entered at each stop. Traffic and real road conditions can change after a plan is calculated.
The expected count is what was loaded and carried over, minus deliveries, damaged and disposed stock, plus anything picked up. Check each stop’s unloaded quantity in the run report. Any stock change you forgot to record will show up as a difference.
The reader looks for addresses, quantities and lines like “VAN LOAD”. Edit anything it got wrong on the review screen before you create the route. You can also add stops in the planner afterwards.

WHAT’S NEW
Update RouteEff from Google Play to get:
Fixes the home-screen widgets showing “Can’t load widget” in build 31. If a widget still shows that, remove and re-add it.
A trip summary appears when a route ends: total time, driving versus time at stops, stops, units, credit and photos, with Share summary (counts only, no addresses). While a route is active, a notification shows the next stop with Navigate and Open route or Record stop, and in-app guidance has Back to navigation. Notifications are grouped as Routes and Team, and Settings can send a test notification. The widgets are redesigned, long-pressing the app icon offers shortcuts, navigation works in landscape, and adding a stop can use your current location.
Build 30 fixes build 29 closing on launch and includes all of it. Teams are switched on and included for every account. New: the credit question for expired goods, a trip line and planned stock badge on the run card, going back a step, gallery photos, daily route names, colour tags, drag-and-drop stops, Record stop in navigation, sending routes and QR images to contacts, Google Maps addresses for locations, subscription settings (no payments), a new launch screen and home-screen widgets for today and your active route.
New route is one screen: name it, add stops, tap a stop for its tasks, products and a note, then start or save. Map planning is under More options. Saved locations match as you type and bring their usual tasks and products. On a run, the next stop shows its address, products and tasks with Navigate and Open in Maps buttons, and stock checks keep their tasks. Shelf photos are organized by store and can be sent to a supervisor. Recent dispatch messages are kept to reopen, and place search ranks results near you.
Share a dispatcher’s message to RouteEff instead of copying it. Imported routes keep the original message, and a message for your regular stores can update that route with your stop order and tasks. Run reports and Weekly operations compare planned and actual deliveries. Products remember the names dispatch uses for them. Place search now runs when you press Search, so it is faster and spends fewer paid searches.
Field operations for delivery work. Each stop shows one step at a time, with timing in the background. Save products and locations, confirm the van load, and record deliveries, stock checks, shelf photos and stock changes. Finish with a van count, or keep stock on the van for tomorrow. Paste a dispatcher’s message to build the day. See your week in Weekly operations. Dark mode buttons are easier to read. Field records stay on your phone; this build has no team stock, cloud sync or photo upload.
RouteEff plans a multi-stop route with one Google Routes request, safely reuses recent identical searches and routes, and avoids unnecessary cloud-plan refreshes. Full-screen guidance checks precise location before starting and keeps the route overview, direction-following camera, north-up control, progress, and voice guidance inside RouteEff.
Testers should report unexpected routing, sign-in, layout, location, or notification behavior through the secure support form.
PRIVACY
Guest plans stay on your device. When you sign in, your plans are stored with your account in Firebase so they follow you between devices. Live routing sends stop coordinates through our service to Google Maps. Team members can see shared plans and assignments. Firebase handles identity and team data. Foreground location and notifications are optional; diagnostics are opt-in. We do not request Gmail inbox access or background location.
Field work records stay on your phone: runs, products, locations, stock counts, shelf photos and the dispatch messages you import. They are not uploaded unless you export or share them yourself. When you send shelf photos to a supervisor, they go only through the app you choose in the share sheet. Items you delete wait in Trash on your phone for 30 days before they are removed (build 33 and later).
Support tickets store your account ID, verified email, message, status, and optional app and device details in Firebase. Only you and RouteEff’s administrator can retrieve them. Ticket alerts contain no message or email content. This site has no advertising or analytics scripts, and its search runs entirely in your browser.
DELETE ACCOUNT
In RouteEff, open Profile → Security → Delete account for immediate self-service deletion. On builds before 2.0.0 (33), use the web form below; update RouteEff from Google Play to delete from inside the app. Transfer ownership of active teams first; recent sign-in may be required. The service removes your profile, notification token, feedback, support tickets, team memberships, cloud plans and Firebase identity.
Without the app, submit a secure data deletion ticket while signed in. We use your verified account identity, never a password, to process the request. Shared team records and anonymous operational aggregates may remain without an account profile.
Deleting your account also clears what RouteEff keeps on that phone: plans, drafts, remembered places, field records and shelf photos. Without an account, open Profile → Storage → Field records and photos to delete runs, products, locations, stock counts and shelf photos. Uninstalling RouteEff also removes everything on the phone.
